Sabrina took a deep breath before opening her front door only to be greeted by Troyâs handsome face. For a month, Kadeem had allowed her to not say a word to Troy about breaking up. But today her time was officially up. Kadeem wanted her to end things with him so that they could focus on them again. Without Troy being in the picture.
âSab.â
âHi,â she said, opening the door as wide as it could go. âCome on in.â
âIs this something serious?â he asked, stepping in. âYour text sounded serious.â
âIt is,â she admitted, watching him closely. âWe need to talk.â
âWhat about?â
âHave a seat and Iâll let you know,â she explained, and Troy did as she asked, walking deeper into her living room and taking a seat on her couch. Sabrina then followed and took the empty seat next to him.
Sheâd had a few days to prepare herself for what she was about to say, so she wasnât worried on how to say it. She was more worried about how he would react and how he would try to get her to change her mind, but Sabrina was sure on her decision. She wanted to move on with her relationship with Kadeem.
âTroy, Iâm breaking up with you,â she announced. âAnd I know what youâre about to say, but Iâm going to have to ask you not to say it. Youâre a grown ass man, Troy, and you donât need me to keep you alive. This relationship was a mistake; having sex with you was a big mistake, especially since I was in the best relationship that I had been in for a long time. I just think itâs best if you and I break up. I want to move on from you and fix things with my new relationship. Iâm hoping that you can accept this and be happy for me. Move on and find love with someone else.â
After her words, Sabrina let out the long breath that she had been holding and kept both eyes glued on Troyâs. She couldnât read the look on his face because it was a confusing one. She couldnât tell if he was sad, angry, or calm.
ââ¦Troy? Did you hear me?â she asked gently. âI said Iâm breaking up with yoââ
Wham!
Sabrina thought that she had been dreaming. She thought that she had been dreaming when she felt the hard hit of his hand against her cheek. But once she realized that she had been thrown back against her seat and her hand was on her burning skin, she knew that he had hit her.
âTroy! Why the helââ
Wham! Wham! Wham!
More of his hits followed, and Sabrina tried her hardest to push him away. But he was no match for her. He was stronger and more amped up in giving her assaults.
Wham! Wham! Wham!
She tried to block his hits, but they just kept coming. One by one, harder and harder, punches came landing on her face, all over her body. Her screams and shouts filled her apartment, but it was no use.
